Donna Chin passes along word that applications for the NAPABA Law Foundation Bob Chin Scholarship are now being accepted from law students until September 2. More about the Bob Chin Fund from the NAPABA website:
The scholarship is named in memory of Robert G. Chin, entrepreneur, longtime Prudential Insurance executive, and supporter of Asian American rights. Bob Chin died of cancer in 2001, at the age of 48; for this reason, the scholarship committee encourages applications from college and law students whose lives have been impacted by a diagnosis of cancer within their immediate family.
The scholarship is funded through private donations to “NLF, Bob Chin Scholarship.” The Bob Chin Scholarship will be designated to a student meeting the following criteria:
- demonstrated financial need, as evidenced by the student’s financial aid application, including attachments and executed forms
- U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status
- demonstrated commitment to pro bono service
- commitment to serving the needs of the Asian Pacific American community
- leadership potential
